1. Orders and Deposits
Belly Bowl specialises in creating custom-made ceramic sculptures and keepsakes using individual body casts.
A standard deposit of R1,000 for a Belly Bowl or R1,500 for a Full Torso Sculpture is required to place an order. This deposit is not the full purchase price.
The outstanding balance, including any selected design extras and applicable delivery charges, is payable once your finished artwork is ready and before it is dispatched.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
As our artworks are custom-made for each customer, deposits are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable consumer law or agreed to by Belly Bowl.
We understand that circumstances can change, and we aim to accommodate our customers wherever reasonably possible.
If you are unable to complete your casting within the available timeframe, and your casting kit is still in transit or has been in your possession for less than two days, we will generally offer a refund, less one courier fee and a small administration fee, where legally permissible.
Alternatively, customers who are unable to proceed with their casting may retain their unused kit for a future casting opportunity or transfer their order to a friend or family member.
All cancellation and refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
3. Validity of Your Order
Your Belly Bowl order and deposit do not expire while Belly Bowl continues operating and honouring existing orders.
If you are unable to proceed with your casting within your original timeframe, you are welcome to retain your unused casting kit for future use or transfer it to a friend or family member.
Should you choose to complete your order at a later date, the price of your artwork will be based on Belly Bowl’s current pricing at that time, with your original deposit deducted from the total.
Current courier charges will also apply for the collection of your completed cast and delivery of your finished ceramic artwork.
All applicable charges will be confirmed before production begins.
4. Completion and Final Payment
Once your completed cast has been received and your design choices confirmed, we will begin creating your personalised ceramic artwork.
We will notify you once your sculpture is completed and provide an invoice for the outstanding balance.
Full payment must be received before the finished artwork is released or dispatched.
5. Shipping and Transit Damage
Every Belly Bowl sculpture is carefully packaged for delivery.
Should your ceramic artwork arrive damaged during transit, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably with photographs of the damage and packaging.
Where artwork has been damaged in transit, Belly Bowl will remake it at no additional cost to the customer, using the original cast where available.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
6. Storage of Original Casts
We retain your original body cast for six months after completion of your ceramic artwork.
This allows us to recreate your sculpture if necessary, including in the event of damage during delivery.
After this period, casts may be disposed of and their continued availability cannot be guaranteed.
7. Replacement of Artwork Damaged After Delivery
Ceramic sculptures are delicate and should be handled and displayed with care.
If your artwork is accidentally broken after delivery, it may be possible to recreate the original sculptural form using the broken ceramic pieces.
This is only possible where the fragments are sufficiently intact and can be assembled to create a usable replacement mould.
Each request will be assessed individually. If recreation is possible, the customer will be responsible for the cost of the replacement artwork and all associated shipping expenses.
This paid replacement service applies to accidental damage after delivery and does not affect statutory rights relating to defective goods.
8. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any rights that customers have under the Consumer Protection Act, Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or other applicable South African legislation.
